One person is dead following a crash overnight in East Boston.

Boston police say officers responded around 2:18 a.m. Friday to 467 Chelsea Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, and arrived to find Boston EMS already providing aid to the victim, who was subsequently pronounced dead.

The fatal accident reconstruction team and homicide detectives responded to the scene and are investigating, police added.

Video from the scene shows a damaged car that appears to have rear-ended a motorcoach bus on the side of the road, but it remains unclear what caused this deadly crash that happened near the Sunoco fuel supply terminal.
