Quietly, a new eatery entered the rising scene of bagel shops around the New Orleans area.
Shug’s Bages opened about three months ago in a quiet Uptown neighborhood near Audubon Park and a popular meat-and-three — and the line has been long ever since.
The green-and-white shop welcomed guests at 7505 Maple St. for the first time in late August and held a grand opening around Labor Day and have been slinging their bagels with smear, breakfast sandwiches, lunch bagels and more.
And while it’s typically busy everyday, the staff is quick to make orders as soon as they come in. You can also order online and pick up when you arrive.
