KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The second-ranked Nebraska Kearney volleyball team kept its 2025 season alive by using a reverse sweep to get past Oklahoma Baptist ( 22-25, -21-25, -12, -18, -12 ) Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament in Kearney.
The Lopers (30-3) are the top seed in the eight-team Central Regional and advance to Friday’s second semifinal match vs. fourth-seed St. Cloud State (27-6). First serve will be no earlier than 7:30 p.m. On the other side of the bracket is sixth-seed Washburn (27-4) and second-seed Concordia-St. Paul (27-5). That match starts at 4 p.m.
“You get out of one like that and it’s kind of ‘whew.’ It was not looking good for a while and I was certainly proud of our group for hanging in there,” said UNK head coach Rick Squiers
