A major multi-vehicle crash prompts authorities to close the southbound Causeway Bridge.

Reports indicate that at least eight vehicles were involved in the crash. It is unclear if anyone is injured. The crash happened about mile marker 8 on the southbound bridge. EMS is on the scene.

Drivers are urged to take either I-55 south or I-12 east to the Twin Spans out of Slidell or the Highway 11 bridge.
