KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said it is investigating a deadly crash involving pedestrian that happed Thursday night on Chapman Highway.
KPD said around 10:40 p.m. officers were dispatched to a crash on Chapman Highway at Moody Avenue. KPD said a Nissan Titan truck struck a pedestrian.
KPD said its investigation revealed the truck was headed south on Chapman Highway when the pedestrian walked in front of the truck. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck stopped and remained on scene.
The crash is being investigated by the KPD crash reconstruction personnel. KPD is still working to contacted the victim's next of kin.
