A 34-year-old Monmouth County man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulted two girls in North Carolina, authorities announced Thursday, Dec. 4.
In September, detectives began investigating William Alston after two girls came forward and said he had sexually assaulted them, the Onslow County Sheriff's Office said. Alston was arrested in New Jersey on Friday, Nov. 7 and extradited by the United States Marshal Service to North Carolina on Wednesday, Dec. 3, authorities said.
Alston is charged with statutory sexual offense with a child and four counts of indecent liberties with children, authorities said.
The Aberdeen Police Department are conducting a parallel criminal investigation related to offenses alleged to have occurred in their jurisdiction by Alston, authorities said.
