A mother and daughter from West Belfast, Annmarie McCann and her daughter Bridin, have tragically passed away within days of each other. Their family and friends are now preparing to lay them to rest together. Bridin McCann died peacefully in hospital on November 30, followed by her mother Annmarie on December 4. Both were surrounded by their loving family during their final moments, leaving their loved ones devastated. Mallon Funeral Directors released a heartfelt tribute stating, "McCann (nee Mervyn) Annmarie, died peacefully at hospital 4th December 2025. Surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife to Patsy. Adored mummy to Francine, Patrick, Carleen and the late Bridin. Loving Granny to Stephen, Ben, Caoimhe, Molly, Phelim and Conall. Great Granny, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend to many. R.I.P." The tribute continued for Bridin, noting, "McCann Bridin, died peacefully at hospital 30th November 2025. Surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter to Patsy and the late Annmarie. Loving mother to Caoimhe and Conall. A loving sister to Francine, Patrick and Carleen. Aunt, cousin and friend to many. R.I.P." Both Annmarie and Bridin will be brought home to their family residence at 59 Colinvale. Their funeral service is scheduled for Monday, December 8, with a Requiem Mass at The Church of the Nativity at 10am, followed by burial at Milltown Cemetery. The news of their passing has led to an outpouring of grief on social media. St Gall GAC expressed their condolences, stating, "All at Naomh Gall are deeply saddened to hear of the deaths of Ann-Marie and Bridin McCann, beloved mother and sister of our Gaelic4Mothers player Carleen, and granny and aunt to our underage players Molly and Phelim. Our Lady Queen of the Gael pray for them." The McCann family is receiving support from the community as they navigate this challenging period of loss.
