Everything we know as alleged associate of synagogue attacker Jihad Al-Shamie appears in court charged with terror offences

An alleged associate of Manchester synagogue attacker Jihad Al-Shamie is accused of driving him to the UK's Defence Academy to conduct earlier 'hostile reconnaissance', a court was told on Friday.

Mohammad Bashir, 31, of Shaftsbury Road, Cheetham Hill, is charged with four terrorism offences and appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court, where he was remanded in custody.

He is accused of driving Al-Shamie to the UK Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, on August 14, to carry out 'hostile reconnaissance of the location', weeks before the synagogue attack in Crumpsall, north Manchester, on October 2.
