The graphic novel to feature film pipeline has always existed, endlessly translating works that were specifically designed for the page into films. These sometimes work as competent companion pieces, rarely succeed as unique adaptations, but often just feel completely disconnected, failing as both translations and stand-alone works. Isabel Greenberg’s The One Hundred Nights of Hero, a charming and queer little feminist fantasy, is the latest of these to make it to the big screen, courtesy of filmmaker Julia Jackman.
