MYRTLE BEACH — Netflix’s popular series “Outer Banks” really wants to film in the Myrtle Beach area.
Despite inclement weather thwarting three attempts to shoot at the Socastee Swing Bridge, crews with the coastal adventure drama are again planning to return to the bridge on Dec. 12 for a fourth try, according to the South Carolina Film Commission .
From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., the S.C. Department of Transportation will shut down the swing bridge and a section of Dick Pond Road between Waterway Lane and Peachtree Road, DOT spokeswoman Kelly Moore confirmed.
The show previously filmed on the swing bridge back in July, but storms chased off crews early. That day, local fans had crowded the area in hopes of seeing some of the action .
