DeLAND, Fla. – All southbound lanes for a stretch of State Road 15/North Spring Garden Avenue in DeLand have been closed for emergency repairs, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The closure spans U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard to West Plymouth Avenue, an FDOT news release states.

The road was damaged when a big rig crashed, losing its load of plywood and striking a fire hydrant, according to the release. FDOT said Friday that its crews would join those from DeLand and Duke Energy to work on the repairs.

Southbound motorists in need of a detour are asked to travel east on U.S. 92 and turn right (south) on U.S. 17-92/North Woodland Boulevard before turning right (west) onto West Plymouth Avenue, from where drivers will be able to get back onto S.R. 15 south
