CNN is reporting that the alleged pipe-bomber arrested this week for planting devices at the Republican and Democratic Headquarters in Washington, D.C. told the FBI that he believed President Donald Trump's 2020 election conspiracy.
Brian Cole, who was arrested on Thursday, reportedly spent "hours" with the FBI giving multiple statements, a source told the network.
During the questioning, the suspect told investigators that he believed the 2020 election was stolen from President Donald Trump.
Trump spent months leading up to Jan. 6 claiming that he was the true winner of the election and that the election was fraudulent. He then coordinated with staff and officials trying to stop the certification of the 2020 election in Congress.
He inspired thousands to attack the U.S. Capitol for hours, beating police officers and destroying the historic building.
