An 81-year-old Indian Harbour Beach woman was struck and killed by an oncoming car Thursday, Dec. 5, after attempting to cross a darkened portion of State Road A1A without using a crosswalk,
The deadly crash happened about 5:49 p.m. at the intersection of State Road A1A and Eau Gallie Boulevard. The driver, an unnamed 86-year-old Indialantic man, was not injured.
Troopers said the driver, traveling southbound on A1A in a 2012 Fiat 500, was approaching Eau Gallie Boulevaard just as the unidentified woman was crossing in an easterly direction across the busy highway. She was not in a marked crosswalk, troopers reported.
The woman was then hit by the Fiat. She was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, where she was pronounced dead. SpaceX or ULA? Mid-week doublehead
