BURNT HILLS — The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake girls’ basketball team saw its preseason preparation pay immediate dividends on Thursday night in the 2025-26 season opener.

Behind a suffocating defensive performance, plus a 20-point outburst from junior point guard Taniyah Monforte, BH-BL held off visiting Scotia-Glenville for a 65-54 non-league win in the Rt. 50 Tip-Off Classic.
