A cause of death has been revealed for former Lakers player Elden Campbell, who grew up in Inglewood and went on to play for 8 1/2 seasons with his hometown team.

Campbell's cause of death Monday at age 57 in Pompano Beach, Florida, was due to drowning, according to the Broward County Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services. The manner of death was listed as an accident.

In a statement earlier this week, Campbell's family said he was fishing at the time of this death.
