Morrisons is deliberately slowing down the checkout experience at selected tills across its stores. The supermarket chain is rolling out Talking Tills nationwide, giving shoppers the option to take their time at the checkout.
The initiative will run from Thursday 4 December through to Sunday 7 December, with staff members available to provide a more leisurely checkout service and the chance to engage with those who might appreciate a bit of conversation. The retailer has partnered with the 1 Million Minutes campaign, which encourages individuals to give their time rather than financial contributions in the fight against loneliness.
