A beloved couple brutally killed inside their longtime business on Long Island are being remembered as their son faces charges in their deaths. 

Nassau County resident Vito Dambrosio of Seaford, 30, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbings of his parents, Antonio "Tony" Dambrosio and Angela Pulisciano, both from Seaford, inside A & A Italian Deli in Bethpage on Thursday, Dec. 4, Nassau County Police announced on Friday, Dec. 5. 

According to a report by Fox 5, Dambrosio allegedly attacked a coffee shop clerk less than 20 minutes before the killings, slapping her on the buttocks. He then drove to the deli, where he is accused of stabbing his mother first, then his father, both in the throat while they were behind the counter. 

Pulisciano, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Antonio Dambrosio, 70, died at the hospital, Daily Voice previously reported. 

FOX 5 reported that Dambrosio had been out on bond for a domestic incident involving a sibling and was under an order of protection issued Friday, Nov. 14.

Community Mourns Tony & Angela

As news of the tragedy has spread, grief has poured out across the Bethpage community, where Tony and Angela had run their deli for more than three decades. Straight from Italy, the couple were fixtures in the neighborhood, becoming known for modesty, kindness, and the personal warmth that defined their small business, A & A Italian Deli. 

A GoFundMe launched to support their children, who now face organizing a double funeral, has already raised $26,819 toward its $45,000 goal as of Friday morning.

"They never overcharged, never complained, and never treated anyone as just a customer," wrote the fundraiser's organizer, Angela Pepe, who added, "To them, we were all family."

A Tragedy Still Under Investigation

Dambrosio is now being hospitalized for evaluation, Fox 5 reported. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead later on Friday. 

The investigation into the slayings is still ongoing.
