Young Americans are delivering major warning signs to President Donald Trump and Congress, according to a new poll released Thursday.
The 51st edition of the Harvard Youth Poll revealed that Americans aged 18–29 see their daily lives defined by instability, including eroding trust in institutions and concerns about the economy. And despite shifting politically right during the 2024 election, the voting group — who mainly make up Generation Z — are heavily disapproving of Trump’s return to the White House.
Per the poll, young Americans gave Trump a 29% overall approval rating — in addition to 26% on the economy, 25% on health care, 32% on immigration and 35% on illegal immigration. Among young men, who were a key voting bloc for the president last year, his approval is 32%, which is
