In November, meteorologist Todd Gross was skiing on a snow-covered Jay Peak .

“Eat your heart out Aspen, Vail, Alta, West Coast. This year, it’s the East,” said Gross in a TikTok video "We are putting the west to shame this year with straight powder."

That week, Gross said, northern Vermont had seen 69 inches of snow. Now, after weeks of early winter weather , ski resorts like Jay Peak have seen hundreds of inches of snow fall already.
