An actor from Central New York has landed a role in one of the biggest TV shows of the holiday season.

New Hartford, N.Y., native Austin Janowsky revealed on social media that he appears in the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.” He appears in the fourth episode of “Stranger Things 5″ as Alan Miller, the father of one of the kids in Hawkins, as the military tries to track down Eleven ( Millie Bobby Brown ).

The episode, titled “The Sorcerer,” was one of four episodes released by Netflix the day before Thanksgiving. According to Variety , the new episodes had 59.6 million views in the first five days of streaming, a new premiere-week viewership record for an English-language Netflix series (and third best overall, behind only seasons 2 and 3 of “Squid Game”).
