Allen County is investing $200,000 to get a new addiction treatment program off the ground.
The commissioners today unanimously approved the grant to the nonprofit Fort Wayne Adult and Teen Challenge to help them purchase and remodel a facility at 2025 Olladale Drive off West State Boulevard for use as a men’s addiction treatment center.
Commissioner Ron Turpin said the total cost of the purchase and remodel will be $600,000.
“I think this one’s a good example of leveraging public dollars for a private entity,” he said. “For the ($200,000) that we put in, they’re going to match that, really two to one. You talk to these folks. Their success rate is pretty impressive with the work they’ve done throughout the rest of Indiana.”
