HOUSTON — The family of Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera is disputing new details released by Austin police that investigators say rule out foul play in her death. The family has hired Houston attorney Tony Buzbee and is raising questions about what they call inconsistencies in the case.

Shortly after Austin police released new details in the investigation on Thursday, the Buzbee Law Firm announced it will hold a press conference on Friday at 1 p.m. at its Houston office in the JPMorgan Chase Tower downtown. Aguilera’s parents are expected to attend and may make statements.

According to the announcement, Buzbee plans to “release pertinent details and open questions” about the case and respond to what he described as Austin police’s handling of the investigation.
