(CNN) - President Donald Trump said he met with the family of injured National Guardsman Andrew Wolfe.
Trump posted on Thursday a photo of his Oval Office meeting with Wolfe’s family.
He said Wolfe is in the process of healing and calling his family “fantastic American patriots.”
Wolfe and fellow National Guard member, Sarah Beckstrom, were shot when a gunman opened fire near the White House last week.
Beckstrom died from her injuries.
Wolfe remains in serious condition, but is said to be showing positive signs of recovery.
The shooting suspect pleaded not guilty to murder and assault charges earlier this week.
He’s being held without bond.
