STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Five Staten Islanders were honored Thursday night at the City Access New York Reach for the Stars Gala, which celebrated their work to empower those with developmental disabilities.

The “High Stakes Edition” of the gala had a festive fundraising casino theme and celebrated Winifred “Winnie” Schiff, Kimberly Hill Ridley, Gail Castellano, Dr. Gracelyn Santos and Jared Baskin.

“We all have something in common, you’re great achievers and very dedicated people and you’re my personal role models‚’’ said Sophia Rossovsky, executive director of City Access New York, when welcoming the honorees before a crowd of 170 who took advantage of photo ops with the black and gold balloons and the stellar decorations in the lobbies during the celebration.
