The U.S. men's national team will face Paraguay, Australia, and either Turkey, Romania, Slovakia or Kosovo in the 2026 World Cup group phase after the draw was conducted on Friday in Washington, D.C.
The USMNT will kick off the World Cup against Paraguay on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, before a match against Australia at Lumen Field in Seattle on June 19. It will then conclude its group against the European playoff C winner on June 25 back at SoFi Stadium.
The USMNT only just faced Paraguay, defeating La Albirroja 2-1 in a friendly in November.
Mauricio Pochettino's side also just played Australia, defeating the Socceroos 2-1 in a friendly in October.
The USMNT has not faced either Australia or Paraguay before at a World Cup.
Mauricio Pochettino's side will be one of three co-hosts for the World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19 across the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
The USMNT was placed into Pot 1 for the draw as a host, allowing it to avoid the top nine teams in FIFA's latest rankings.
Australia came from Pot 2, Paraguay was from Pot 3 and the playoff winner from Pot 4.
The four European nations will compete at a playoff in March to determine the last team in Group D.
