Vendor asks for second chance
The search for an advertising agency to promote Old Town Scottsdale will go on ... maybe.
The Scottsdale City Council voted 5-2 during its Dec. 2 meeting to reject a contract with the Scottsdale-based James Agency because of the cost.
The city has a $1.3 million budget generated from bed tax money to promote Old Town, but the contract brought to the council by city staff only allows for about $600,000 to go to advertising, with the rest going toward administrative costs.
