While Minister of Education Paul Calandra expressed his disappointment in the provincewide Education Quality and Accountability Office test results and announced a new two-person advisory body to review those results and the tests’ efficacy, students in the two Stratford-area school boards scored very well when compared to the rest of Ontario.
Results for these standardized tests, which help assess how well Ontario students are doing in reading, writing and math at key points in their education, were released Thursday, showing that students in both the Huron-Perth Catholic District and Avon Maitland District school boards met the provincial standard at a higher rate than the rest of the province in most categories.
