John Ehret is looking for a new football coach after one season with Willie Brooks in charge of the program.
The school posted the job opening Monday, and athletic director Sheena Dilworth said Friday that Nicholas Stroud has been named the interim coach.
Stroud, a graduate of Neville High School and former defensive lineman at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, has been on the football coaching staff for the past three seasons and is about to begin his second season as the head boys track and field coach.
“He’s young, very energetic, loves being here, loves the kids, doing a great job with just being in the weight room with the kids, doesn’t take any days off,” Dilworth said. “We’re very proud of coach Stroud.”
Brooks has coached at four schools in Jefferson Parish, going from Helen Cox to Riverdal
