The Republican National Committee has filed a lawsuit against Maryland election officials, alleging they failed to maintain accurate voter rolls as required by federal law.

The lawsuit points out that at least two of Maryland’s most populous counties have more registered voters than adult citizens over the age of 18, which is described as “impossibly high.” Other counties report registration rates exceeding 95% of adult citizens over 18, while the Census indicates Maryland’s registration rate is about 75.6%.
