The Boston Red Sox pulled off their second big trade of the offseason on Thursday night, as they acquired starting pitcher Johan Oviedo from the Pittsburgh Pirates as part of a five-player deal that included one of the Sox’s top prospects, Jhostynxon Garcia.
After acquiring Sonny Gray in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals in November, Boston has quickly solidified its starting rotation this offseason. However, according to a recent report, it doesn’t sound like the team will be making a move for one of its top trade targets, Joe Ryan of the Minnesota Twins .
