Project moves to City Council for final approval Dec. 17
The Phoenix Planning Commission voted 8-0 Dec, 4 to recommend approval of rezoning requests for the area south of Loop 303 between 67th Avenue and the Interstate 17 that would feature an area dedicated to more semiconductor manufacturing.
The lone abstention on the project known as the NorthPark came from Commissioner Joshua Matthews, who during his comments after a two-and-a-half hour presentation, public comment and question-and-answer session, said he was on the fence and couldn’t make a decision whether to approve or deny the project.
Contention in the meeting came from a 17-page memo given to commissioners hours prior to the hearing that highlighted a change in the plan’s Innovation Corridor, which bumped up space available f
