BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A longtime Louisiana State Police trooper accused of leaking confidential information about an ongoing narcotics investigation resigned from the force.
Master Trooper Willie Palmer, who had been with the agency for 21 years, faced termination amid allegations of conduct unbecoming an officer and improper dissemination of information, a source familiar with the case said.
Although Col. Robert Hodges recommended Palmer’s termination, the source said Palmer was allowed to resign.
When reached earlier this week, State Police spokesman Russell Graham said the agency could not confirm details surrounding Palmer’s retirement.
