KPRC 2 reviewing newly released 911 calls from Hill Country floods

KPRC 2 News is reviewing recordings of 911 phone calls that were made during the deadly Hill Country floods that occurred on July 4, 2025.

The recordings were provided in full and without redactions by the Kerrville Police Department in order to comply with multiple requests under the Freedom of Information Act.

Attorneys representing Graham Media Group — KPRC 2’s parent company — were among the eight FOIA submissions.

2 Investigates is reviewing the calls in an effort to better understand the timelines of search and rescues, the challenges people and rescue crews were dealing with, and other issues impacting the search. All of the recordings will be reviewed and analyzed in full in an effort to collect information on the active investigations into the circumstances of the floods an
