CHAPIN, S.C. (WOLO)– Chapin Mayor Bill Mitchell is breaking his silence in regard to a SLED investigation into an alleged assault.
In a statement on social media, Bill Mitchell said on November 7, prior to his swearing in ceremony, a town employee alleged that he grabbed her by the shoulders.
In response to the accusation, Mitchell says he has full confidence in the legal system and is hoping for a prompt resolution.
Officials with the Town of Chapin say they are aware of the investigation and are cooperating fully with law enforcement.
