KALAMAZOO, MI –– When Tate Hallock joined forces with first-year head coach Lance Taylor at Western Michigan three years ago, the opportunity of winning a conference championship was always top of mind.
Now, that path is clearer than ever.
Flash forward to 2025, and Taylor, Hallock and the rest of Western Michigan football is on the doorstep of its ultimate goal –– the Broncos will play for a Mid-American Conference championship on Saturday at Ford Field against Miami (OH).
“It’s all we’ve been working for this offseason,” said Hallock, a graduate safety and Grand Rapids native. He started his college career at Michigan State before transferring to WMU in 2023. “When I came here with coach Taylor, this is where we ultimately wanted to be. Very blessed to be in that position.”
