MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A driver is accused of being impaired behind the wheel after a crash left a motorcyclist dead earlier this year in Mesa.
Danica Zunich, 59, was taken into custody on Thursday after being pulled over by authorities. Zunich was wanted on an active warrant stemming from the deadly crash and DUI investigation.
On June 28, just after 9 p.m., emergency crews responded to the collision involving a motorcycle near Extension Road and University Drive . Police say Zunich was attempting to make a left turn onto Extension Road when she failed to yield to a motorcyclist.
Authorities say two people were on the motorcycle. The motorcycle driver, 34-year-old Seth Hoffman, died at the hospital. His passenger, a woman, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
