A Bloomfield Township neighborhood received $1 from the county road commission for a big renovation project.

The money was dispensed in $500,000 increments. The second grant was announced last month by township officials. The grants will help pay for Bloomfield Village Green’s 13.7 mile, three-year, five-phase road resurfacing project.

Bloomfield Township Supervisor Mike McCready said in a statement emailed to The Oakland Press that he was glad for the strong partnership with the road commission, adding that the additional funding is vital to the project’s success.

“This project is unique because it’s the largest, most-expensive special-assessment district we’ve ever done,” said Craig Bryson, road commission spokesman.
