MECHANICSBURG — Last year was an anomaly.

Southern Columbia, owners of a state record 14 PIAA football titles, had missed the postseason, snapping a run of seven straight state crowns — the longest streak of any program.

It was a reminder that reaching the grand stage isn’t easy, even if Jim Roth’s crew has done it more than anyone else. So, when the Tigers took Chapman Field on Friday, they didn’t hesitate to extend their benchmark pedigree.

Southern Columbia dominated District 10 champion Farrell 43-22 to win the PIAA 2A title after a year removed, extending the program’s all-time mark at 15 crowns altogether.
