The city showed some sanity making The Weeknd, the homegrown star whose melodies far outweigh his acting chops, our third most-streamed artist, and Kendrick Lamar, winner of the battle for rap’s soul against that other homegrown star (Drake), No. 5. As for the rest of the top 5 … yikes.

Every year since 2015, Spotify has been indulging us self-obsessed mortals with a year-end wrap-up of our most-listened- to artists, albums and genres — the whole nine, based on user data.
