Reyburn (Hot Spring County), circa 1910: Lydia Ashcraft posed on her farm outside Malvern, writing her sister Pearl: “The Crows won’t bother your garden this year if you will stick this in.” Lydia’s husband died in 1931, and she later lost the farm when someone forged the deed. Bedfast by a stroke in 1954, she died in 1966 and is buried in the historic Rockport Cemetery in Malvern.
