President of baseball operations Buster Posey is bringing two of his former Giants teammates back to the organization in new front-office roles.
Curt Casali and Javier López are returning to San Francisco as advisors to baseball operations, the club announced Friday. Paul Bien, who spent the last four seasons serving as the Giants’ vice president of baseball analytics, was also promoted to assistant general manager.
Casali, 37, caught in the big leagues for 11 seasons, including two separate stints with the Giants in 2021-22 and ‘24. He served as Posey’s backup during the Giants’ 107-win campaign in ‘21 and appeared in 41 games for San Francisco the following year before he was dealt to the Mariners at the Trade Deadline.
