CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The City of Chicopee held their annual Christmas tree lighting celebration this evening. Western Mass News went on over to check out the festivities. It was a lot of fun over at Market Square Friday night with community members coming out to celebrate the start of the holiday season. The annual celebration kicked off at 4:30 p.m.

Snacks like hot cocoa, cookies, popcorn, and hot soup were available for everyone who showed up tonight to celebrate.

In attendance for the event is Chicopee Mayor John Vieau along with other elected officials and of course the one and only Santa Claus himself made a special appearance with the Chicopee Fire Department.
