A new arrowhead monument installed at Sendero , a 75-acre mixed-use development, is the latest sign of Bastrop’s expanding arts scene.

The details

The three-ton sculpture that Houston-based artist Bobby Bacon designed and erected is visible from Hwy. 71.

Bacon, founder of Tatu Metal Art, has had his artwork featured at a variety of spaces across the world, including Burning Man.

“The arrowhead monument is a statement piece for Sendero—one that honors the land’s history while pointing toward its future,” said Mason Mote, co-founder of developer Pearl River Companies, in a news release. “It embodies the spirit and convergence, exploration and place-making that defines our community.”
