Police discovered a loaded firearm hidden beneath a pile of rubble at the home of a convicted drug dealer's girlfriend. Ryan Dawson's DNA was found all over the gun after it was recovered by officers.

The dad later claimed he had been told to "mind" the lethal weapon after racking up a drug debt. The seizure of the pistol came nearly 10 years after he himself was shot "for a completely unknown and unprovoked reason".

Liverpool Crown Court heard this afternoon, Friday, that Merseyside Police executed a drugs warrant at the home address of Dawson's partner on Fieldton Road in Croxteth on September 8 this year.
