DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Parents flooded social media with fears for their children after the arrest of a former youth golf coach on sexual abuse charges.
Scott Stowe, 38, was arrested Wednesday and is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child. He is well-known in the Quad Cities golf community: He previously served as program director for First Tee, worked for about two months at Iron Tee, and, according to his social media accounts, has also been a golf pro at Davenport Country Club.
Investigators said the child was between 11 and 14 years old and the alleged abuse happened between 2021 and 2024, though it is not clear where the abuse occurred.
In the wake of the arrest, experts say parents’ worries are understandable—but there are concrete steps they can take.
