BELHAVEN, N.C. (WITN) - Students from John A. Holmes High School in Edenton met at the Belhaven Memorial Museum on Friday to learn about the process of curating.

They documented history with one artifact at a time.
“It’s amazing to come in, see a historic book or article, read the timestamp from 200 or 100 years ago, and just see the types of tools, furniture, and utensils that they used back then,” student Holden Ford says.
During the curating process, artifacts are identified, gently cleaned, and documented, according to Curator Stephen Farrell with the Washington History Museum.
He says his job is to make sure the stories of the past are not forgotte
