FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky is "fed up" with robocalls and state leaders are cracking down on those transmitting the suspected illegal calls.

Attorney General Russell Coleman announced Friday an investigation into four of the country's largest voice providers to further crackdown on robocalls.

Coleman said as part of the ongoing investigation, the bipartisan Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force has directed Inteliquent, Bandwidth, Lumen and Peerless to "stop transmitting suspected illegal robocalls across their networks."

The four companies are accused of continuing to transmit hundreds of thousands, and in some cases, millions, of suspected illegal robocalls, Coleman added.
