NIXA, Mo. (KY3) -A Nixa woman has been charged after allegedly taking part in a celebrity impersonation scam targeting elderly victims.

According to court documents, Sarah Mills, of Nixa, is charged with money laundering, conspiracy to commit, and two counts of felony stealing.

Documents state that, throughout 2024 and 2025, Mills repeatedly participated in a scam, depriving victims of funds totaling $22,350.

One victim in this case believed he was in a relationship with actress Nicola Coughlan and was sending money to her. Another victim thought she was sending money to assist Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in getting out of his current contract with the Bengals.

Documents state that, through this scam, Mills would then deposit portions of funds into accounts for her person
