MARQUETTE, MI – A man from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula was sentenced to 30 years in prison for recording himself sexually abusing a child and distributing the video online.

U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker said the facts of the case were “truly egregious” during his sentencing of Dalton Wayne Braun, 36, of Kingsford, said U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Timothy VerHey.

Jonker sentenced Braun to 360 months in prison followed by 120 months of supervised release for the sexual exploitation of a child, VerHey said in a Dec. 5 news release.

The attorney said Braun admitted to recording a video of himself sexually abusing a minor child in July 2024 and distributing that video online.
