FIFA president Gianni Infantino presents United States President Donald Trump with the FIFA Peace Prize during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Draw at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

President Donald Trump was in attendance at the drawing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, where the president received a prize from FIFA’s president Gianni Infantino in a highly anticipated ceremony.

The major soccer tournament is coming to the United States, Mexico and Canada next year. FIFA has been cozying up to Trump leading up to the event, culminating in the Dec. 5 ceremony where the president received the newly created FIFA “Peace Prize.”

"This is truly one of the great honors of my life," Trump said in accepting the prize.

Apart from the prize, Infantino has been tightening his bond with Trump by making various visits to the White House in recent months and appearing at a ceremony Trump hosted the day before the drawing.
